If you're ever trying to move your pet abroad, it's worth noting that they need their vaccines updated and microchipped no less than 21 days prior to your departure, the rabies vaccine must be given after microchipping even if they don't need it, and they need a preflight exam and international health certificate given no MORE than 10 days prior to departure. You may have to drive to the nearest USDA office and have them authenticate that certificate in that time period as well. Whew.
